Jean was raised in a music-filled environment singing gospel songs in church in her native home Far Rockaway Queens, New York.

Jean has performed several times at the famous Lionel Hampton Jazz Club of Paris with her band “Second Wind”, Linda Lee Hopkins, and the Gibson Brothers’ Soul Circus of Martinique, West Indies.  She has worked with singers and musicians throughout France, and in several Paris venues such as The Charlie Birdie, Sir Winston’s Café, Galerie Renoma, Le Qin, The Tennessee, The Chameleon, the Trois Mailletz, Le Café Viaduc, Le Reservoir, The Speak Easy, and the American Church.  Her voice is the one you hear reading the letter from the late Mrs. Coretta Scott-King, wife of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., to the American Church for their hospitality towards them in 1965, a documentary produced by the American Church of Paris.  In 2006 Jean appeared in concert with two-time Dove Award winner Billy Gaines of Nashville, Tennessee.

Jean became an ordained and licensed evangelist through Anchor Bay Evangelistic Association, U.S.A, received her Deaconate orders through the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Virginia Diocese, Bishop Vinton Anderson, and her pastoral ordination through Monument of Joy Inc., Dr. Raymond Powell Jr., pastor.

Realizing that the entire Body of Christ is called to worship the Lord, Jean has answered the call to share with God’s people the power of praise and worship through song and dance as a psalmist, praise and worship leader, minister, counselor and choir director.  Jean studied pre-nursing at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia, and Radford University, Radford, Virginia, and completed her BA degree in psychology at Mary Baldwin College, Staunton, Virginia

When called upon to “perform” Jean takes advantage of every opportunity to share the message of God’s love through Jesus Christ through singing and preaching the Gospel, vocal coaching, and by directing choirs.  Jean first began directing choirs under the tutorship of her father, Reverend James Bulls of Roanoke, VA, at the age of 13, and has worked as the assistant director of the Al Hamilton

Community Choir of Staunton, VA, which also toured parts of France in 2004.  She has appeared as a featured artist and back-up singer for many gospel groups and well-known artists, and for several has been sought out to receive the Word and counsel from God.  In this way she exercises her call as evangelist and pastor outside of the local church, taking God’s Word into the “hedges and highways.”  Jean ministered at the American Church of Paris during the Hearts for Haiti benefit concert in 2010 after the earthquake.  Her voice is the one you hear reading the letter from the late Mrs. Coretta Scott-King, wife of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., to the American Church for their hospitality towards them in 1965, a documentary produced by the American Church of Paris.  Jean is sought for her gifts, talents, knowledge and expertise in the fields of singing, and directing choirs.  Recently Jean sang lead with an ensemble in the movie L’Arna Coeur starring Vanessa Paridis.

Jean earned her bachelor of arts degree in Psychology at Mary Baldwin College of Staunton, VA and is working on several books including her autobiography, and a textbook on the psychology of singing.
